As the new year, 2014, millions of people will start the year off with a "New Year's Resolution." Here are some suggestions for you!
-Read 4 chapters of the Bible a day. By the end of the year you will have the whole Bible!
-Choose five people that you know and witness to them. Think of five people you know that are not saved. Throughout the year witness to them. You never know, your words may change their life!
-Every week memorize a new Bible verse. Imagine how many verses you would know at the end of the year!
-Get a jar, and throughout the year when something good happens to you, write it down and put it in the jar. At the end of the year you can read all about the joy you had of the past year!

Have a blessed 2014!

Prophecy of Jesus' Birth
Throughout the Old Testament there was a lot of prophecy about the birth of Jesus. Let's take a look at a few!
Hosea 11:1, When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.
Isaiah 7:14, Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
This prophecy was fulfilled in Matthew 1:21-23, She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
Micah 5:1-2, Marshal your troops, O city of troops, for a siege is laid against us. They will strike Israel's ruler on the cheek with a rod. "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."
This prophecy is fulfilled in Matthew 2:1, After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem.
Psalm 2:7, I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son ; today I have become your Father.
This prophecy was fulfilled in Luke 3:22, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
This prophecy is fulfilled in Matthew 2:13-15, When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”

True Meaning of Christmas
As you know Christmas is fast approaching! This is a busy time of year with traveling, shopping for gifts, and going to parties. With everything going on we tend to forget about the true meaning of Christmas.
We all know that "Jesus is the reason for the Season." But do we really think about it? Is that what our main concern is? If it is, then great! If it isn't, then we need to work on that.
Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birthday. Of course, the Bible doesn't give the exact date of His birth, but Christmas is the day we celebrate it. Mary, a virgin, was chosen by God to give birth to Jesus. She was betrothed (promised to marry) to Joseph. When they arrived to Bethlehem to register for the census, Mary gave birth. The child's name was Jesus Christ.
The birth of Jesus is so important because that day the Savior was born. It was the beginning of salvation. Without Jesus there wouldn't be a final sacrifice that saves us from our sin. Without Jesus our eternal home wouldn't be Heaven. Without Jesus there wouldn't be any hope!

Interview with Chris Fabry
A few months ago I e-mail co-author of Left Behind: The Kids Christ Fabry. He graciously agreed to answer a few questions. This is an old post, but my favorite of all time! Enjoy!
Hi Mr. Fabry!
I absolutely love your book series Left Behind The Kids! Here are some questions I would be delighted if you would answer:
1. Is there a Left Behind The Kids movie or T.V. show in the future?
"I haven’t heard definitively. They were trying to make a movie or TV series for a while and it got hung up. I think there are still people who would love to see that."
2. What was it like working with Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins?
"It was a lot of fun. I wrote 35 of the books with them over a period of several years. The most fun was to take what had happened to the adults and fit the same thing with the kids. I remember one book where the locusts were zooming in and one kid takes a baseball to one of them."
3. How long did it take to write each book?
"I worked with Jerry on the plot, then put my head down and wrote for probably 5 weeks or so. I edited, sent it to him, he edited, then we sent it to the publisher and started on the next one."
4. What kind of outcome did you expect with the book series? Were you surprised at the outcome?
"I wasn’t surprised at how many sold because the adult series had already sold so many copies. The surprise was the spiritual wallop—people writing and telling us they had prayed when Vicki or Judd prayed. And others told us they had begun to read the Bible again after thinking it was boring."
5. Could you please write my blog viewers a short note?
"After the Left Behind: The Kids Series, Jerry and I went on to write a series called Red Rock Mysteries. Then another called The Wormling. I’ve written several novels for adults since then and I attribute being able to work on this series for much of the discipline I need today.
"If you get an opportunity, big or small, allow God to use you right where you are. If you dream of singing on a big stage but you’re stuck washing floors, sing in the hallway and do everything for God’s glory. Then nothing you do will be wasted."

What Really Happened
In Left Behind: The Kids we hear about the Anti-Christ, Nicolae Carpathia. Some of the Young Tribulation Force members even got to see him, face-to-face. Buck Williams visited New Hope Village Church after Carpathia came into power, and told Judd, Vicki, Lionel, Ryan, and Bruce Barnes about his experience with Carpathia.
In "Left Behind: The Movie" we got to see what really happened in the room when Buck realized Nicolae would be the Anti-Christ.
