Superbowl

Today an American tradition will be celebrated. The 47th Superbowl! Many Americans will sit in front of a television set and watch two teams play against each other. They will enjoy food, fun, and fellowship. In football each team has a quarterback. The quarterback is one of the most important assets to the game. In Left Behind: The Kids I believe that Judd, Vicki, Lionel, Ryan, and the rest of the the Young Tribulation Force's quarterback is Jesus. Without Him they couldn't face the Tribulation, just like teams can't play the game.

In book 12 and 13 (Earthquake! and The Showdown) the kids, and all of mankind face a world-wide earthquake. While the earthquake occurs Vicki and Mrs. Jenness are driving over a bridge. As the earth shakes and Mrs. Jenness is so scared she freezes and can't move the wheel Vicki has to take over. When she reached for the wheel she relied on God to help her. As the bridge collapsed and the car fell into a river Vicki still trusted God. She knew the only way she would survive was to give this situation to God and allow him to work.

At the same time, Ryan is in Vicki's house. When the earthquake strikes a big piece of furniture falls on him. He is dying. But he doesn't rely on himself. Even though he tries his hardest to get out he knows God is there, and Ryan trusts in him. A few hours later two men come and rescue him. If Ryan didn't trust God he may have died right there on the spot. But he put his hope and trust in the Lord, and he was helped.

Is Jesus YOUR quarterback?
